Softech Activated Carbon Filters are used to remove the bad color, odors and tastes, as well as organic matters and residual chlorine. The system works on the principle that the water is filtrated through the activated carbon mineral inside the filter tank. When water is treated, the absorption process occurs in addition to the filtration process. The dirtiness held between filter layers are removed from the system through the time-controlled backwash system, ensuring that the activated carbon filter keeps working with high performance.
The activated carbon mineral is a treatment mineral with a very broad surface area. There are “charcoal-based” or “coconut-based” activated carbon minerals on the market for different applications.
In order to achieve the desired performance, the system must be designed with correct filtration velocity, activated carbon mineral with adequate specification/quality must be used and the infrastructure for a healthy backwash must be established.
