Softech Single Water Softeners are used to remove the calcium (Ca+2) and Magnesium (Mg+2) ions in the water in order to eliminate hardness (lime).
The water to be treated passes through ion exchange cationic resin inside the water softener. The resin’s ion exchange function ensures that calcium (Ca+2) and magnesium (Mg+2) ions in the water remain on the resin, hence reducing water hardness. Once the cationic resin is saturated, it is regenerated with salt water and becomes renewed.
Key components of a Single Water Softener comprise the cationic resin, single resin tank, salt tank and an automated valve assembly for regeneration. Depending on the customer’s needs, these water softeners are available in different options, i.e. time-controlled or flow rate-controlled regeneration.
