Softech Tandem Water Softeners are used to remove the calcium (Ca+2) and Magnesium (Mg+2) ions in the water in order to eliminate hardness (lime).
The water to be treated passes through ion exchange cationic resin inside the water softener. The resin’s ion exchange function ensures that calcium (Ca+2) and magnesium (Mg+2) ions in the water remain on the resin, hence reducing water hardness. Once the cationic resin is saturated, it is regenerated with salt water and becomes renewed.
Key components of a Tandem Water Softener comprise of the cationic resin, two resin tanks, salt tank/s and an automated valve/s assembly for regeneration. Tandem Water Softeners perform flow controlled regeneration.
