Softech Ultraviolet (UV) Disinfection Systems allow disinfection using UV-C rays without adding any chemicals into the water. These UV-C rays degrade the DNAs of the microorganisms in water upon contact through photo-oxidation and kill them, resulting in disinfection.
Key components that comprise the main housing of the Ultraviolet (UV) Disinfection Systems include: special UV lamps that generate UV-C rays with 254 nm wavelength and special quartz sleeves with high light transmittance rates that prevent contact of the said lamps with water.
Operation times of the UV lamps are monitored via the time counter on the control panel of the Ultraviolet (UV) Disinfection System so that the lamps can be replaced with new ones at the end of their service life. In some models, the light intensity is measured online by the UV sensor in the UV reactor. In some cases, such as a decrease in light intensity, etc., quartz sleeves envelopes may be cleaned using an automatic quartz cleaning system if desired.
