Nanofiltration (NF) Systems are used to remove hardness, bacteria and viruses, as well as in processes such as demineralization, desalination, COD removal and wastewater recovery. In order to accomplish this, the water passes through a semipermeable membrane with 0.001 µ (micron) average porosity under high pressure.
Conductivity removal will be limited since membrane porosity is larger compared to the Reverse Osmosis (R/O) technology. Therefore, this system can be used for hardness removal in some applications that do not require conductivity removal.
