In areas where there is no central sewage system and are far from wastewater treatment plants, Pumping Stations are used to transfer domestic and/or industrial wastewater from a lower elevation point to a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) or a sewage system at a higher elevation point.
In Reinforced Concrete Pumping Stations, wet or dry installation type submersible sewage pumps are used to pump (transfer) the wastewater. Optionally, suitable unit such as a basket screen, mechanical screen, penstock, etc. can be used at the inlet of the pumping station in order to prevent the coarse particles in the wastewater from clogging these submersible pumps.
Reinforced Concrete Pumping Stations are designed considering conditions such as the wastewater flow rate, site conditions, wastewater inlet elevation, underground ground water level etc. Once construction and insulation works are done, the system is commissioned after installation of other units to be used in the plant (such as penstock, screen system, submersible pumps, crane system, level measuring devices, gas measuring devices, installation materials, control panel, odor filter etc.).
